Topic Brainstorm
Project Idea 1. Creation Stories
Astronomy, cosmology, and the world beyond us has always been something of interest to me. The creation stories that begin with Vishnu and Brahma is a topic that I feel most interested in. I am not quite familiar with all of the information in these stories, so I would love to delve deeper to understand the beginning of time. Sometimes I think about these Gods and Goddesses and wonder if what we believe to be our Gods and Goddesses are really just other figures in the universe that helped start our world. This topic is of great interest to me and I would love to retell them stories that they entail as well as the cycles of creation and destruction. I am really unsure about what to particularly focus on since it is all so interesting. I am also very interested in learning the Vedic and Puranic scriptures and analyzing those along with the stories.

Project Idea 2. Sita
Having heard the Ramayana as I grew up, I did not realize that Sita went into exile soon after with her twin sons. This is something new that I had not heard of, and Sita's story became very interesting to me. Her beginnings in Janaka to being captured by Ravana then being exiled once again are stories that I find interesting and hope to harness some feminine power from. I think I could take her stories and tell them in a new way in a chronological manner. It seems as though people do not talk about what happened to Sita post-Ramayana. I think it would be interesting to find as much information possible to make an "All-About-Sita" page where any information regarding her could be found instead of a specific tale. Seeing that there are already pages up in the same way, I want to possibly connect it to my Project Idea 4 where there are multiple Goddesses and their stories are also known. A Goddess Guide if you will. However, I want to take it even a step further and talk about reincarnations as well. I enjoy being specific about topics, so I am hoping to go as in depth as possible.
I liked this source by Devee because of how it presents Sita. It is also wonderfully detailed, which I enjoy instead of summaries.
Project Idea 3. Shiva
I suppose every Indian has their God that they believe in more and confide in. For me it is Shiva. I find strength, power, peace, and more within Shiva. So this topic is something I will always absolutely love. His protection and guidance is what brought me to where I am now and has taught me more than I could ever imagine. His stories and journey are interesting as he is present everywhere. I could possibly take Shiva and intercalate it with both the Ramayana and Mahabharata. I have also heard about this Shiva linga that has formed from ice and naturally took the shape of the linga. I find that absolutely fascinating and am wondering where I can take that topic of Shiva's continuous presence and mystery here on the ground.
The Amar Chitra Katha is a good source for quick summaries of Shiva's stories.
Project Idea 4. Goddesses/Gods and Reincarnation
As I mentioned in Project Idea 2, I was interested in the various Goddesses and their reincarnations throughout their stories. I know some of their stories, but not in complete detail along with their other names through reincarnation. Being able to make some sort of "Goddess Guide" would be interesting. But again, I want to be as specific as possible so finding more than just their stories and reincarnations is something I hope to come across. I love learning about each God, Goddess, animal, rishi, etc. in detail because it only adds to my knowledge and makes this class very interesting. I am less sure about how far in depth I can go here versus the cosmology or Shiva stance. Mostly because there are other pages that have already gone fairly in depth to these Goddesses.
I think the 7 Secrets of the Goddess book will definitely be a start to help me travel into the details that I feel like I am missing.
