Week 12 Reading Notes: Amar Chitra Katha - Sukha and Dukha

The way out of Sukha and Dukha is Ananda, or eternal bliss. Source: The Book of Threes
The story of Sukha and Dukha provides the important message of reaching one's moksha. This can be obtained by forgetting any desires that bring about both happiness (sukha) and saddness (dukha). These two characters portrayed in the story are Sukha and Dukha. Sukha got greedy, while Dukha achieved good karma for giving to others even when she is in need. This was an important story of both greed and moksha that was emphasized through a simple story for children. This same story can be turned in multiple ways to bring about the same important message: that greed can bring about destruction and removing ourselves from worldly desires results in true ananda (eternal bliss).
